If you thought teams didn't get more interesting this free agency period then think again. The Los Angeles Lakers pulled a fast one over teams such as the New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, and Dallas Mavericks by acquiring 2-time NBA MVP point guard Steve Nash. The move was made by a sign & trade between LA and Phoenix. Talk about a major upgrade at the point guard position, the Lakers added to the roster without moving anyone from the core 3. In essence this was a great job by the Laker orginization.

In return the Suns got two first round picks in 2013, and 2015 as well as two second rounders in 2013 and 2014. Nash averages a double double consistently, points and assists. So this move makes sense especially in the assist column, as Kobe and the rest of  the supporting cast will greatly benifit from Nash's presence. Another plus is the great relationship between Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, which should make for some great chemistry on the court.

Now that Nash has an NBA team to call home in 2013, this will affect how the other guards left in free agency such as Jeremy Lin will be signed. The hole Nash left in Phoenix was quickly refilled, as the Suns signed Goran Dragic to a 4 year-34 million dollar deal. Los Angeles has their man, and I think he automatically makes them Wetern Conference Finals material along with Oklahoma City. Next season can't come soon enough.
