Last night the Miami Heat won game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, making this year the 3rd straight they've reached the NBA Finals. On June 6th, 2013 We'll see Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals which will feature the defending champion Miami Heat & the always in contention San Antonio Spurs. Two powerhouse teams, star studded, and both willing to give it their all for the title. We here at 1st & 10 can't wait for this series to start. With that said we gave our predictions, and the reasons that follow. So here they are:
Chris Marcotrigiano- NBA, NHL & MLB Writer:
"The Spurs have had a great run this post season, but Miami is simply too quick and athletic for this older team. San Antonio's only chance will be if Tony Parker can break down the stout Heat defense." Prediction: Miami Heat in 6.
Harris Yudin- NBA & MLB Writer:
"I really like the way the Spurs play. Popovich is the best coach in the NBA, and the key players have all been here before. That said, I think the Heat have yet to play their best basketball and will finally get to that level in the finals. LeBron will continue to do what he does, and Bosh and Wade will likely step up their play."
"The Spurs do not have the post presence that the Pacers possess. As long as the Heat are controlling the tempo of the game, they should be able to get by with relative ease. The Spurs are too well-coached and well-conditioned not to win a game or two, but I see the Heat being rather dominant throughout the series." Prediction: Miami Heat in 6.
Anthony Tartamella- NHL & NBA Writer: "...LeBron James". Prediction: Miami Heat in 7.
Desmon Palmer- NBA & NFL Writer:
"Though the Spurs have showed us the lethal, and balanced attack they possess they will be faced with factors they haven't faced all post season long. A championship effort/skilled defense, a team with a balanced offensive attack, and superstar players on the perimeter."
"Having faced two of the toughest defensive teams this post season in Indiana, and Chicago the Heat are prepared for the Spurs defense. It won't be easy, but Miami has the tools to get it done." Prediction: Miami Heat in 6.
Megan Murphy- NFL Writer:
"Miami Heat have the edge. They've been so dominant this entire season and the talented yet aging Spurs aren't going to be able to keep up." Prediction: Miami Heat in 6.
Seth Guttman- 1st & 10 Radio Analyst:
"Spurs have the edge because they can match the Heat's 3 point shooting with their deep bench. Don't forget the big 3 in Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, & Manu Ginobli. Should be a high scoring series." Prediction: San Antonio Spurs in 6.
Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat & San Antonio Spurs tips off Thursday, June 6th at 9pm ET. Broadcasted on ABC
